A Turkish Summer Escape at Club Med Bodrum Palmiye

This summer, our family found itself in a dilemma over where to spend our well-deserved vacation. My son was dreaming of a fly-and-flop holiday, my husband was eager for a cultural deep-dive, and I was looking to explore a new destination and learn something new. After some deliberation, we found the perfect balance at Club Med Bodrum Palmiye in Turkey, nestled between the umbrella pines and the serene Aegean Sea.

Our seven-night stay turned out to be a delightful fusion of everything we wanted. Upon arrival, the check-in was swift, and the friendly staff ensured we had all the information we needed for our stay. My son was immediately thrilled about the activities lined up for the week, particularly the tennis lessons and the many fun-filled events for kids. We were quickly given a tour of the village in a buggy and taken to our room—a charming maisonette-style Turkish house with bougainvillea draped across its blue-and-white walls. The fresh pine scent and the soothing hum of crickets, carried by the gentle Aegean breeze, set the perfect tone for a peaceful yet vibrant holiday.

A Typical Day at Club Med Bodrum Palmiye Our days began with an early morning trek organized by the G.O. (Gentle Organizers) team. While our son headed off for his tennis lessons, my husband and I embarked on scenic hikes, taking in breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and the sea. Afterward, we reunited for breakfast at one of the two beautiful restaurants on-site. Both restaurants offered stunning views of the horizon, but main buffet restaurant Terrasse, with its endless variety, was our go-to for family meals. For a more intimate dining experience, the à la carte Halikarnas restaurant was perfect.

The village was brimming with activities, allowing us to choose how much or how little we wanted to do each day. I couldn’t resist signing up for a windsurfing class, while my boys were content soaking up the sun by the beach. The G.O. team went above and beyond in offering an immersive experience that celebrated Turkish culture. Daily themes kept the energy high, and the entertainment was always lively, culminating in my favorite evening of all—Turkish night. We were treated to a culinary journey through Turkish cuisine, followed by an artistic dance performance that beautifully portrayed the rich history of Anatolia.

Toward the end of our stay, the village organized a sports awards night, where everyone who participated in the various activities received medals. It was a fun, community-driven event that really brought all the guests together, making us feel like part of a larger family.

One of the highlights for me was the village’s Turkish hamam and spa area. Set outdoors and suspended between the pine trees, the spa offered a unique escape into nature—soothing and tranquil, with the soft breeze and rustling leaves enhancing the experience. Whether I was enjoying a hammam session or just relaxing by the water, this spot became my personal haven.

A Memorable Ending As our time at Club Med Bodrum Palmiye drew to a close, we felt a sense of fulfillment. My son had his dream of a relaxing, activity-filled holiday, my husband got his wish of a rich cultural immersion, and I left with new memories, newfound skills, and a deeper appreciation for the beauty and history of Turkey.

Club Med Bodrum Palmiye gave us the perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and cultural experience—a family vacation that catered to all our desires. If you’re looking for a destination that offers both the charm of Turkish hospitality and the comfort of modern luxury and sustainable practices, this little village on the Aegean is a must-visit.
