This 9 days tour offers classic images of the Italian lake district: balconies over blue water, sleepy cobblestone villages and stone cottages, secluded gardens and exotic flora.

Day 1 – Arrival in Milan/Stresa


Arrival at Milano Malpensa international airport. Transfer to your hotel and check-in. Stresa is perhaps the most prestigious town of Lake Maggiore, famous all over the world for its historic hotels dating from the early 20th century, its magnificent villas and its luxurious buildings overlooking the Lake. Stresa is the grande dame of Lake Maggiore's villages, a graceful little town that came to life in 1906 with the opening of the Simplon rail tunnel. It quickly became a favoured holiday retreat for Europe's nobility; Hemingway was a regular visitor. We'll have free time to explore the town. 

Day 2 – Stresa/Borromean Islands/Stresa


Breakfast in the hotel. Meeting with our assistant at the hotel lobby. Enjoy a cruise to the Borromean Islands jewels of the lake. First, stop at Isola Madre, the biggest of the 3 and a visit to the 17th-century Borromean Palace and the botanic garden filled with exotic plants, continue to Isola Pescatori, the first island to be inhabited and now more than ever, with its narrow, winding streets, is one of the most romantic places on the lake here chance to have a lazy time visiting the live market and a few small restaurants where is possible to stop. Continue to Isola Bella, called so after princess Isabella, in fact on this small island as a wedding gift a marvellous palace was built. Nowadays only a few rooms of the luxurious palace can be visited as the main part is the private residence of the Borromeo family. Not to miss also the marvellous gardens. Return to Stresa. 

Day 3 - Stresa/Como/Bellagio/Tremezzo/Lenno/Como


Breakfast in the hotel. Meeting with our driver and transfer to Como. On arrival check-in in Hotel. Meet at the hotel lobby with the guide for a full-day tour. We will reach the deck and we will leave with a ferry for a tour of the Como Lake and its three famous Villas: Villa Carlotta and the botanical garden, Villa Balbianello and Villa Melzi. Start the lake tour from Varenna whereby ferry we’ll reach Bellagio: known as the "pearl" of Lake Como.

For centuries it's scenic location has enchanted artists and writers, not only from Italy but also from abroad. We’ll visit Villa Melzi d’Eril. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon transfer by ferry boat to Menaggio and from there on lungolago road, we will reach Tremezzo to visit one of the most famous Villas of the lake “Villa Carlotta”. Villa Carlotta is known all over the world for its marvellous gardens. Our last stop will be in Lenno where we‘ll visit Villa Balbianello, known for the romantic seclusion of its location; both villas hold to the Neoclassic age. Continue to Como. Short visit of the town.Overnight

Day 4 - Como/ Cernobbio/ Moltrasio/ Comancina Island/ Lecco/ Como


Breakfast in the hotel. Meet at the hotel lobby with the driver for a full-day tour of the charming small towns on the lakeside by car. We will visit Cernobbio, Moltrasio, the Comancina Island and Lecco. You will have free time in each town. Cernobbio is only a few steps from Como, its most famous villa is without a doubt Villa d’Este, today transformed into the Grand Hotel Villa d'Este. By ferry boat, we will reach Comacina Island, Lario's only island. Known for its glorious past, the Island played an important role in the history of Como, from the Roman period to the early Middle Ages.

 

It was inhabited by communities of Roman Ausuciates, hence the name Ossuccio. Considered one of the most impressive archaeological sites in northern Italy of the Middle Ages, the Comacina island has regained its past glory thanks to excavations carried out during the course of the 1900s, these have unearthed a schedule of outstanding archaeological interest dating from Roman times to the sixteenth century. Return to the mainland, meet with the driver and departure to Lecco. Lecco is located at the southeast end of the branch of Lake Como, it is known as the city of the Betrothed. It is, citing Alessandro Manzoni, who here set his most famous novel “That branch of the lake of Como, which extends towards the south, is enclosed by two unbroken chains of mountains, which, as they advance and recede, diversify its shores with numerous bays and inlets…”

Day 5 - Como/Verona


Breakfast in the hotel. Meeting with the driver and departure to Verona, city of lovers. En route, we’ll stop in the Valpolicella Area, the land of one of the most amazing wines of Italy: Amarone. We’ll visit one of the most awarded wine producers for wine tasting. Continue to Verona. Orientation tour of Verona: Arena, Piazza Bra and Giuliet’s Balcony. Arrival at the hotel. 

Day 6 – Sirmione peninsula


Breakfast in the hotel. Meet at the hotel lobby with the driver for a full-day tour of Garda Lake. Arrival in Sirmione and boarding on a boat for a lake cruise: start from Porto Castello (Castle Port) of Sirmione, peninsula round trip with a panoramic view of Maria Callas Villa, Aquaria Spa Center, Catullo's grotto, Fonte Boiola, the famous spring of thermal water of Sirmione. We return to Porto Castello by an underpass beneath the drawbridges of Castello Scaligero.

Return to Sirmione. The afternoon is at leisure. Sirmione is one of the most popular towns to see on Lake Garda. The town is also famous for its Roman ruins which can be found right at the end of the peninsula. Here, you can wander around the remains of the largest Roman villa in Northern Italy and visit the Scaligero Castle and the Catullo caves. Our suggestion: enjoy at Terme of Sirmione: 700 square meters of thermal water. Its permanent temperature ranging from 34 to 36 degrees emits soft, welcoming steam so that the thermal open-air pool. Return to Verona.

Day 7 - Sirmione/Verona/Venice


Breakfast in the hotel. Meeting with the guide for a guided walking tour of the city. Verona is a must to dream and get the feeling of the never-ending love of Romeo and Juliet. In honour of its many historical buildings, Verona has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city is famous for its Roman amphitheatre, the third largest after the Colosseum in Rome and still used for operas and other cultural entertainment, and other buildings that have survived since Roman times. It is a city that harmoniously blends its ancient treasures, with its contemporary ones. Continue to Venice. On arrival meeting with our assistant and transferred to the hotel by water taxi. Check-in. Free time at leisure. For our guests, we offer a free excursion by private motorboat to Murano island one of the most famous glass factories with a glass-blowing demonstration and a visit to the amazing museum where masterpieces of one of the masters of Venetians (Ermanno Nason) artists are displayed. 

Day 8 - Venice


Meet with the guide at the hotel lobby for a special half-day walking tour with a gondola ride. ST. MARK'S SQUARE, THE BASILICA AND DOGE'S PALACE we will start our tour from St. Mark's Square, the political and religious centre of the Republic of Venice. We will see many of its historical and artistic treasures: the Basilica with its precious mosaics; the Ducal Palace with its well-known Bridge of Sighs; the Procuratie palaces and the Napoleonic Wing; and the Clock Tower, the Bell Tower and the Marciana National
Library. We continue our walk to the Rialto area and the Castello district, which centres on St. John and St. Paul's Square, the beautiful Renaissance Church of the Miracles or the QueriniStampalia Foundation, housed in a famous Venetian palace with its original antique furniture as well as a precious art collection. 

Day 9 – Departure day

After breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to Venice international airport for the return flight.
