Elephant Hills brings a fresh approach to the animal spotting holiday by combining luxurious accommodation with the stunning natural scenery of Thailand’s tropical forest and a firm commitment to animal welfare. The resort invites you to explore all the natural wonders of Khao Sok National Park including the unforgettable experience of interacting with the resident herd of Asian Elephants.
Each of the park’s two-to-four day tours brings you on a journey through this untouched wilderness with the help of an inciteful English speaking local tour guide, and includes the award-winning ‘elephant experience’, allowing you to get up close and personal with nature’s gentle giants in a responsible way. Watch the elephants bathe in the mud pool before giving them a scrub with coconut fibres and feeding them their daily meals. On top of the elephant interaction, you can decide how the rest of your stay unfolds with the range of tours offering canoe excursions down the Sok River, jungle walks, exploration of Cheow Larn Lake and cooking demonstrations. All tour packages are fully inclusive of accommodation, full board and activities.
Despite its remote location, you won’t be expected to give up your creature comforts during your time at Elephant Hills. Instead, you’ll be staying in one of the tailor-made luxury tents either at the Elephant Camp or at the floating Rainforest Camp, which sits on the emerald waters of Cheow Larn Lake, as one of the word’s only luxury floating tented camps – a popular choice for couples and honeymooners.
Good to know
As well as winning the ‘Thailand Green Excellence Awards’ every year since 2014, Elephant Hills has also won awards for its commitment to environmental sustainability, with the Rainforest Camp actually running on wind and solar power.
