The site offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and is a testament to the advanced engineering and artistic skills of the ancient Sri Lankan civilization. -Sacred City Of Anuradhapura: Anuradhapura is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and a significant religious and political centre in ancient Sri Lanka featuring numerous ancient Buddhist monasteries, intricately carved stone structures, including the famous Ruwanwelisaya stupa and Jetavanaramaya, which are considered architectural marvels. -Ancient city of Polonnaruwa: The ancient city of Polonnaruwa, situated in the north-central province, was the second capital of Sri Lanka during the medieval period.
