Magical Kefalonia

Many years ago I watched a movie called Captain Correllis Mandalin, which was filmed on a small Greek island called Kefalonia.

I knew that one day I wanted to go there. And this summer I went with my family.

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the likes of Santorini and Mykonos, then this is the island for you. Its beaches are untouched and the ocean is crystal clear and heavenly to swim in.

It’s an island that gives you a sense of peace and tranquillity, even during the busy summer season.

It has beautiful restaurants and cafes, all selling fresh homegrown produce, and the island is also known for its own honey and wine.

If you want to visit some of the most famous spots you will need to drive or take a tour bus. But beware, the narrow roads up and down the high hills are challenging yet you will get some of the most incredible views of the island when you are driving.

Definitely a place where time has stood still, nature has been untouched and you forget all about being in the rat race of modern life.
