3 reasons to travel with your kids

1. Broaden their minds - We all know travel is a great way of broadening the mind and immersing children in new cultures and other ways of living. We become more tolerant by travelling. Organised adventure tours can be a great way of encouraging this, opening up the world via destinations that you might be more wary of going to independently, such as South America or Southeast Asia.

2. Bring school work to life - Travel can also be a great way of tying holidays in with children’s schoolwork and of bringing to life things they’ve learned in the classroom – for example, visiting the Pyramids while studying Ancient Egypt. Even in more luxurious destinations, such as the Maldives, you can open children’s eyes to the world by letting them learn about ocean conservation in the company of marine biologists.

3. Socialise with other cultures - If you prefer a fly-and-flop kind of holiday, the kids/teen clubs in resorts can give your children a chance to make new friends (and you the chance for a real break from routine and work stresses!) Exposing your kids to children from other cultures helps them understand and appreciate diversity and promotes tolerance and acceptance.

I am a huge advocate for family holidays whether that be abroad or just getting away for a staycation. There is something to be said for prioritising family time away and getting away from the domestic duties and pressures that keep us from spending quality time together on a daily basis. Do you agree?
