A Taste of India: Golden Triangle with Tigers

India is a place that stirs your senses and captures your heart. It's colourful, chaotic, spiritual, and serene all at once. And if you're not sure where to begin with this fascinating country, the Golden Triangle is a perfect introduction.

This classic route links Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur - three cities bursting with history, architecture, and energy. But what if you could combine all of that with the chance to see majestic wild tigers in their natural habitat? That's where this itinerary really shines.

I’ve helped many travellers explore India, and this route is always a hit. It's ideal for first-timers or anyone who wants to experience a little bit of everything: palaces, bazaars, street food, history, and of course, wildlife.

Here’s a taste of what the journey could include:

Delhi – Old Meets New

Start in the capital, where the lanes of Old Delhi are alive with rickshaws, spice markets, and ancient mosques. Then contrast it with the wide boulevards and colonial charm of New Delhi. There’s so much to take in - from the Red Fort to India Gate and everything in between. A guided rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk is a must!

Agra – Iconic Beauty

Next stop: Agra, home of the Taj Mahal. No matter how many photos you've seen, nothing compares to standing in front of this ivory-white marvel at sunrise. You’ll also visit Agra Fort and enjoy views of the Yamuna River.

Ranthambore – Into the Wild

Now for something completely different: Ranthambore National Park. Once the royal hunting grounds of the Maharajas, it’s now a protected reserve and one of the best places in India to spot wild Bengal tigers. You'll head out on morning and afternoon game drives, hoping to glimpse not only tigers but also leopards, crocodiles, and birdlife.

Jaipur – The Pink City

Wrap up your journey in Jaipur, Rajasthan’s flamboyant capital. Explore the towering Amber Fort, take in the views from Nahargarh Fort, and browse the bustling bazaars filled with jewellery, textiles, and spices. Jaipur's energy is infectious and the architecture is stunning.

This itinerary flows beautifully, with a mix of sightseeing and downtime, nature and culture, history and fun. Accommodation is in luxury hotels and you’ll have the benefit of local guides who bring the stories of each place to life.

Plus, the pace is just right - you’re not rushing, but you’re never bored.
