Imagine swapping your everyday views for vast lunar landscapes, shimmering high-altitude lakes, and centuries-old monasteries perched on rugged cliffs. A journey through Ladakh is an immersion in the wild beauty of the Himalayas: winding over dramatic mountain passes, wandering through traditional villages, and soaking up big, empty skies filled with stars. Over 7 nights and 6 days, this Himalayan expedition is perfect for active couples and keen photographers who want to combine soft adventure with culture, comfort, and truly unforgettable scenery.

Spend a full day soaking up the spirit of Ladakh’s most iconic monasteries and villages. Begin early at Thiksey Monastery, where you can quietly witness the morning prayer ceremony as the valley below you wakes. Continue to Hemis, one of Ladakh’s most renowned monasteries, rich with history, artwork, and sweeping mountain views.

On your return, pause at Shey Palace and the peaceful Sindhu Darshan site before stopping at the famous “Rancho school” from the film 3 Idiots. It is a day filled with culture, scenery, and local life, rounded off with a relaxing evening back at your hotel.

After breakfast, head out on an unforgettable full-day excursion to Khardung La, one of the highest motorable passes in the world at an incredible 5,600 metres. The drive itself is an adventure, winding up through stark mountain scenery until you reach a world of snowcapped peaks and vast, open skies.

At the top, take time to soak in the dramatic views, crisp air, and the thrill of standing so high in the Himalayas. Later, return to your hotel for a well-earned evening at leisure and a comfortable overnight stay.

Set off in the early morning light towards the legendary Pangong Lake, travelling via the high Changla Pass at 5,486 metres. As you gently ascend, enjoy sweeping views over tiny villages and emerald fields far below. Pause at Tsoltak, the summer pastureland of grazing yaks, for a relaxed picnic surrounded by wild, high-altitude scenery.

By midday, you reach the western shore of Pangong, a vast shimmering lake in mesmerising shades of blue, framed by stark mountains and stretching more than 140 kilometres towards the India–China border. Here you have time to wander, take photographs, and simply savour the sense of space and silence. In the late afternoon, you return to Leh, where a comfortable evening at your hotel awaits.

After breakfast, set off along the scenic Srinagar highway for a day filled with history, culture, and natural wonders. Begin at the Hall of Fame, a moving museum created by the Indian Army that brings Ladakh’s stories and sacrifices to life. Continue to Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, a tranquil Himalayan shrine dating back to 1517, where you can pause for a moment of reflection.

Next, experience the curiosity of Magnetic Hill, where the landscape appears to defy gravity, before reaching the dramatic confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers, a spectacular meeting of jade and blue waters. As the day draws to a close, return to your hotel in Leh for a relaxing evening and overnight stay.
