Get ready for an unforgettable journey through the heart of the Caucasus with our 9-day itinerary of Georgia. From the vibrant streets of Tbilisi to the pristine landscapes of Kazbegi and the rejuvenating spa town of Borjomi, this rout offers an immersive experience into Georgia's diverse culture, breathtaking natural beauty, and warm hospitality.

Tbilisi is a city where old‑world charm and contemporary creativity meet at every turn. Think winding cobbled streets lined with colourful wooden balconies, ancient churches tucked beside synagogues and a mosque, and the steam domes of the historic sulphur baths rising above the old quarter. Ride the cable car up to Narikala Fortress for sweeping views over the Mtkvari River, stroll across the striking glass Peace Bridge as the city lights shimmer on the water, then wander through hidden courtyards and lively squares as the scent of freshly baked khachapuri drifts from family‑run bakeries.

Beyond its history, Tbilisi has an effortlessly cool, modern edge. Browse antiques and art at the open‑air Dry Bridge Market, then head to the Fabrika district for street art, independent boutiques, and hip cafés set in a former Soviet factory. In the evening, tuck into beautifully presented Georgian dishes in a stylish bistro and discover why the country’s qvevri wines are earning such a global reputation. It is a city that feels instantly welcoming and endlessly intriguing, perfect for combining culture, food, and a little urban buzz at the start or end of your Georgian adventure.

Kazbegi, now known as Stepantsminda, offers some of the most dramatic mountain scenery in the Caucasus. The road alone is unforgettable, following the Georgian Military Highway through deep gorges and high passes before opening out into a valley framed by snow‑dusted peaks. Once there, your days move at a gentler pace: waking up to clear mountain air, watching clouds roll over the ridges and wandering through sleepy villages where time seems to have slowed.

The region’s undisputed icon is Gergeti Trinity Church, perched on a hilltop with mighty Mount Kazbek rising behind it. You can travel up by 4x4 or on foot, and the views from the top are simply breathtaking. Between unhurried walks to waterfalls and viewpoints, cosy evenings by the fire and long lunches of hearty Georgian cuisine, Kazbegi is all about embracing nature and tranquillity. It is the perfect contrast to Tbilisi: wild, restorative and wonderfully photogenic.

Borjomi is Georgia’s classic spa town, set in a lush, forested valley where mineral‑rich springs have been attracting visitors for generations. It has a wonderfully nostalgic charm: elegant old villas, leafy parks and the gentle sound of the river running through the town. Days here are made for slowing down, breathing in the fresh pine‑scented air and taking unhurried strolls through Borjomi Central Park, where you can sample the famous local mineral water at its source.

Beyond the town itself, nature is never far away. The surrounding hills and Borjomi‑Kharagauli National Park offer easy walking trails and scenic viewpoints, reached by gentle hikes or a short cable car ride. Many hotels feature spa and wellness facilities that make the most of the healing properties of the local waters, so you can unwind with soothing treatments after your time in the mountains or city. Borjomi is ideal as a soft, restorative finale to a Georgian journey: peaceful, green and quietly luxurious.
