Travel Counsellors experience the best of Singapore

Few cities make an impression quite like Singapore. In a single day, visitors can wander through historic streets, dine beneath the Supertrees, and watch the city skyline shimmer across Marina Bay. During a recent Travel Counsellors trip, the group experienced the many sides of Singapore, from the colourful streets of Kampong Glam to the island landscapes of Sentosa and the city’s spectacular rooftop venues.

Seeing the city by sidecar

There is no better way to get a feel for Singapore than by seeing it from a different perspective, and the sidecar tour through Kampong Glam and the Civic District offered just that. Travelling past colourful shophouses, the golden dome of Sultan Mosque, and landmarks linked to Singapore’s colonial history, the group enjoyed an intimate look at the city’s contrasting character. The route also brought Singapore’s modern skyline into view, creating a memorable connection between its historic streets and striking architecture.

“My highlight was the sidecar tour. What a different way to see the city - I would absolutely recommend it.” – Romy Frow

A culinary adventure above the city

Singapore’s food and drink scene was another important part of the itinerary, with every stop offering something different. From lunch at PS Café to dinner and drinks at CÉ LA VI, high above Marina Bay Sands, the group experienced several of the city’s most memorable dining settings. At the elegant Raffles Hotel, a cocktail-making session in Raffles Courtyard offered a taste of Singapore’s legendary hospitality, before a private dinner among the Supertrees at Gardens by the Bay. It was an evening filled with historic surroundings, creative food, and some of the city’s most recognisable views.

“There is just something about being at the top of the famous Marina Bay Sands Hotel, although I loved Nova Rooftop as well, which is even higher than Marina Bay Sands and was a lot quieter. I would definitely recommend that as a little ‘hidden’ gem.” - John Appleby

Rooftop views across Marina Bay

Singapore’s skyline provided an impressive backdrop throughout the trip, particularly from its rooftop bars. While the views from the top of Marina Bay Sands were a firm favourite, Nova Rooftop offered a quieter alternative, sitting even higher above the city. As one Travel Counsellor explained, “There is just something about being at the top of the famous Marina Bay Sands Hotel, although I loved Nova Rooftop as well, which is even higher than Marina Bay Sands and was a lot quieter.

Island escapes and open water

The group also spent time in Sentosa, Singapore’s island resort destination, where golden beaches, attractions, restaurants, and waterfront views offer a slower pace away from the city centre. The trip ended with a private yacht charter and dinner, followed by drinks at 1-Altitude, giving the group one final chance to enjoy Singapore from the water and above the skyline. With historic neighbourhoods, memorable dining, and plenty of ways to see the city differently, Singapore offers all the ingredients for a varied and effortlessly enjoyable city escape.
