Ras Al Khaimah is the ideal setting for both relaxation and adventure

Explore Jebel Jais – the UAE’s tallest mountain

Ras Al Khaimah is one of the fastest-growing tourism destinations in the world, boasting a rich culture and long-standing history dating back 7,000 years. With an array of archaeological sites, breathtaking natural vistas and Jebel Jais, the highest mountain in the UAE, this destination is perfect if you want a more cultured or adventure-based holiday.

Located in the eastern part of Ras Al Khaimah and forming part of the spectacular Ru’us al-Jibal mountain range, the magnificent Jebel Jais stands at 1,934 metres tall and offers a mountain experience like no other.

Featuring an abundance of remote wadis and exhilarating hiking and mountain bike trails, Jebel Jais offers stunning rugged scenery and a welcome respite from the heat of the beach resorts, with temperatures here around 10 degrees cooler than down at sea level.

Take on the world’s longest zip line

Ras Al Khaimah’s Jebel Jais is also home to the world’s longest zip line – the Jebel Jais Flight. Thrill-seekers and adrenaline junkies won’t want to miss this bucket list attraction, where you can travel at speeds of between 120kph and 150kph (74-93mph) at a jaw-dropping height of 1,680 metres above sea level.

Don your special harness and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime, with the longest flight itself taking approximately two to three minutes. Once completed, you’ll finish off your exhilarating quest on a suspended landing platform, where you’ll be transferred to a second line to complete the journey back down to the ground.

As well as the world’s longest zip line, Jebel Jais is also home to the Middle East’s first commercial Via Ferrata. Professional instructors will guide you along a spectacular route, where you’ll enjoy three thrilling zip lines as you traverse over one kilometre on this exciting mountain adventure.
