Kerala & Kodaikanal: Nine Days of Nature, Laughter and Unforgettable Memories
13 – 21 June 2026
There are journeys that impress you with beautiful landscapes, and then there are journeys that leave a lasting place in your heart because of the people you experience them with. Our nine-day adventure through Kerala and Kodaikanal was undoubtedly the latter.
Travelling with my three cousin sisters made this trip truly special. Every winding road, every scenic stop, and every shared meal became another memory we'll treasure for years to come. It was a journey filled with endless laughter, meaningful conversations, and the simple joy of exploring together.
Cruising Through the Backwaters of Alleppey
Our adventure began in Alleppey aboard a private houseboat, where life seemed to slow down. As we cruised through Kerala's famous backwaters, we watched local village life unfold along the banks, admired the swaying coconut palms, and enjoyed delicious traditional Kerala cuisine prepared fresh on board.
It was the perfect introduction to what is often called "God's Own Country."

Discovering the Beauty of Munnar
From the tranquil waters of Alleppey, we made our way to the cool hills of Munnar.
The endless tea plantations stretching across the mountains were simply breathtaking. Every viewpoint offered another postcard-perfect landscape, while the crisp mountain air provided a welcome escape from the heat. We explored tea estates, visited the Tata Tea Museum, admired panoramic viewpoints, and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere that makes Munnar one of Kerala's most loved hill stations.
Sometimes the most memorable moments weren't the planned attractions, but simply standing together, taking in the spectacular scenery.

Experiencing the Wilderness of Thekkady
Our journey continued to Thekkady, where nature took centre stage.
One of the highlights was an early morning boat ride through the Periyar Tiger Reserve. Although wildlife can be elusive, the peaceful surroundings and untouched forests made the experience incredibly rewarding.
We also wandered through fragrant spice plantations, learning about Kerala's world-famous spices before treating ourselves to a wonderfully relaxing Ayurvedic massage—a perfect way to unwind after days of travelling.

Falling in Love with Kodaikanal
No words can truly capture the charm of Kodaikanal.
With its mist-covered hills, towering pine forests, cascading waterfalls, and cool mountain breeze, every corner seemed magical. One of the standout experiences was visiting the famous Guna Caves, a place surrounded by mystery, dramatic landscapes, and incredible photo opportunities.
The relaxed atmosphere, scenic viewpoints, and quiet beauty of Kodaikanal made it one of our favourite destinations on the trip.

A Perfect Ending in Fort Kochi
Before heading home, we spent time exploring the historic streets of Fort Kochi.
Walking through its colonial architecture, colourful cafés, local markets, and waterfront offered the perfect opportunity to reflect on everything we had experienced together over the past nine days.
As our journey came to an end, we realised it wasn't just about the destinations we had visited—it was about the countless laughs during long drives, the shared excitement of discovering new places, and the precious time spent together as family.

Nine amazing days spent with my three cousin sisters,
making memories we'll cherish forever.
