A Weekend in Baku
We decided to try something a little different than our normal weekend away.
It started with our first night staying at the Fairmont Baku – Flame Towers. Lovely Hotel with amazing Views. We then moved on to the Art Club, which is a wonderful, boutique hotel nestled in the Old City of Baku.
From here we were able to walk through the long narrow cobbled streets and admire the locally produced carpets, antiques, and shops and taste the traditional foods of Azerbaijan.
There are lots of things to see, here are just a few - Martyr’s Lane, Nizami Museum, Baku Boulevard, and Miniature Book Museum.
In the evenings we spent most of our time strolling around Nizami Street the heart of Baku’s buzz, lined with shops, cafes, restaurants and bars.
Having stepped a little out of our comfort zone, we were well rewarded with a great trip that we would recommend to anyone for a short break.
