It's Nice To Meet You

Hello and welcome, Your journey starts here... My name is Emma and I'm from Cork in the south of Ireland. I have called Dubai my home from home now for just over 17 years now.

I started my travel business with Travel Counsellors UAE after an extensive career in aviation with one of the biggest airlines in the UAE. I was a travel consultant in my hometown in Ireland before this and here is where my love for all things travel began.

I am fortunate to have travelled to and explored 66 countries globally and it has only made me want to see and do more. My passion and love for it increase with every new destination that I visit. Meeting people, sharing the local cuisines, taking time to get to know cultures, learning their stories and pasts are all things I love about travelling. I also really enjoy organising and researching my trips and have always planned everything down to the last detail. These are just some of the reasons I knew, starting my business with Travel Counsellors UAE was the right fit for me. I happily share my knowledge with my customers to make their travel experiences better. I will take care of your travel itinerary by doing some things I love for you, planning, organising and sharing my own experiences

For me travelling is sometimes about getting from A to B and other times it's about making memories. The Dalai Lama once said "Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer" so let me help to make you richer by getting you there, by helping you embark on those new adventures and by making those incredible travel moments and memories.

I'm here to help you to tailor-make your travel and holiday plans. I will ask you some short questions to ensure I know exactly what you need and together we can make your experience seamless and unforgettable. I will be with you every step of the way and it will be my pleasure to take away any stresses or doubts you may have about your travel plans.

So whether you are planning a business trip, a staycation here in the beautiful UAE or a trip further afield with your loved ones, the world is your oyster, get in touch and let's make it possible. I look forward to speaking with you very soon

Our Indian Ocean Paradise- Varu By Atmosphere

01 January 2022

Our trip to the Maldives started with landing on Male Island, the Maldives capital, one of over a thousand Islands that the Maldives is made up of. Landing in here, if you have a have a chance definitely get a window seat, it is always a beautiful sight, blue skies, crystal blue waters dotted with green island resort paradises. Male airport is quite small at the moment, you can see that there are works going on and what looks like some exciting expansion plans, from the plane we are taken on a short bus ride from the plane to the terminal where we queue for immigration and our locator forms and PCR tests are checked, then it's onto collect our bags, a quick scan of said bags and out into the arrivals area where we were met by our transport coordinator holding a sign for atmosphere resorts/Varu. We had to wait about 45 minutes for our complimentary speedboat which is quite normal as the resorts wait for all passengers to disembark the plane and if their customers arriving from other flights also. We were taken towards our speedboat with other guests, a quick safety brief and some water passed around, and off we went. The 45-minute speedboat transfer went by quickly and saw us whisk past many other lovely islands along the way. The weather was great so the speedboat ride went well. At the Varu by Atmosphere arrival jetty we were met by the very welcoming staff, some lovely cold refreshing towels and the sound of the welcoming Maldivian drum. It really was a very nice welcome, we had arrived at our All-Inclusive island paradise for the next 3 and started to leave all of our real-world troubles behind. We had an individual staff member sit with us as we went through the check-in process. Our 3 Night stay included all meals at the very nice buffet restaurant Lime and Chilli, snacks throughout the day at Bar Rouge where the main pool is, all of our drinks including the mini bar, all non-motorized water sports, and one-night dining at one of their three A la Carte restaurants. If you stay a minimum of 4 Nights(which I wish we had been able to do) you get 2 meals either lunch or dinner in the A la carte restaurants, a 45-minute massage per person at Elena overwater spa, and one excursion, sunset cruise/sunset fishing included. I definitely recommend staying a minimum of four nights if you can! After check-in we had to wait for approx 1 hour 30 mins for our room as we arrived early at approx 9:30 am, we didn't mind this, we got a buggy tour of the island to get our bearings and then relaxed in bar rouge whilst they finished preparing our room. We were very lucky and upgraded to a connecting family beach villa which we loved. Beautifully decorated with a great verandah and steps from the beach where we watched sunrise two mornings out of three and it was spectacular. One of my favourite things about the Maldives is how close you feel to nature when you are here, the sea life, the beautiful displays of sunrise and sunset put on by mother nature, amaze me every time. In the evenings we went for the afternoon tea snacks at Bar Rouge and watched the sky light up with pinks and purples for sunset, it was gorgeous. The highlight of the island for us was both the staff( a special shout out to Yayu the restaurant manager who made our stay so memorable) and the food. We chose the seafood restaurant Nu (which stands for blue in the Maldivian language) for our A la carte option and we were not disappointed, the restaurant is set over the water and the food was just great. With the F and B manager, Yayu's help we were also able to get a reservation for lunch the next day at Kaage which is one of only 2 authentic Maldivian restaurants in all of the Maldivian island resorts and this, for us was one of our favourite parts of our stay. On arrival at lunchtime, we were offered a local welcome drink, then shown a short video on Maldivian heritage which I enjoyed, and learned some things I didn't know about Maldivian culture. The importance of the sea to the Maldivians was really stressed as a source of income and food for them and we could taste this in our lovely lunch, the food was prepared and presented in a traditional way with a modern twist. The tastes were just great and the presentation of the food was beautiful, we tried the menu taster option so we tried almost all courses and had wine parings also and it really was a feast for the eyes and the taste buds. I would definitely recommend choosing the Maldivian restaurant as one of your A la carte options at Varu, if you're worried about spice or certain flavours let them know and the chef will adjust for you but don't miss out on trying it, you won't regret it I promise. Our stay had to come to an end, unfortunately, after three amazing relaxing nights. I did get a chance to do a tour of the resort and its different room types and I would say if your a couple to go for the overwater villas, they are beautifully laid out and so romantic with direct access to the sea and the beach villas with or without a pool are great for families or groups with the connecting rooms if you need that bit more space. The resort is great value for money with the all-inclusive package and we left feeling rested and very grateful for some more fabulous family memories we will have for always. Get in touch if you have any questions. I'm here to help, Varu by Atmosphere is a beautiful island resort and Id love to help you book your next Indian ocean getaway to this piece of paradise.

Emma Allen was our travel counsellor and she was AMAZING! We went to her via a recommendation to book a 4 day trip to Cairo. We were a group of 11 from Iceland. Emma planned the whole stay from a-z, hotel, day trips etc., but as a group of 11 people an age gap from 5 to 74 y.o. We had different needs and a lot of questions and Emma found a way for everyone to be happy. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she catered to every need we had, she even found out that twin brothers from the group celebrated their 12th-year-old birthday during our stay and had a birthday cake delivered to the room! Emma always answered any questions we had quickly no matter what time of day. I even asked her once if she was working around the clock! We will definitely go to Emma again to plan our next holiday with her.

I didn’t know where to start when thinking about booking a holiday with all the restrictions. When I contacted Emma it was the best decision I ever made… she made it so easy and she made sure that all the travel restrictions were considered so that there were no surprises. She sent me all the relevant information and documents I had to complete before travel - it just made it stress-free. Can’t thank her enough. I have peace of mind going on holiday now. Thank you! 10/10
