Hola!

My name is Jessica, a mom, a wife, a travel fan, and hopefully your next travel counsellor.

I am originally from Mexico, but the excitement of traveling and experiencing other cultures, places, and foodies has led me to live in different parts of the world. Scotland, Spain, Geneva, France, England, and the UAE.

Started my working journey with business travel, but let's face it the fun is in leisure travel so joined Travel Counsellors and I will aim to simplify travel research for you, so that when the time to travel comes you can be prepared and just ready to relax and enjoy.

Cultural and FUN Baku!

26 February 2024

Hotel: Fairmont Baku, Flame Towers Adventurers: Mom, Dad, and an amazing 4 year old Sophia! If you hear of Baku, you have a very accessible flight, and you think it's interesting.... but think it might be not ideal for the little ones... then you should definitely give it a try as it's a destination that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Baku is known for its stunning architecture, beautiful parks, and bustling streets. The city offers a fantastic mix of old and new with futuristic skyscrapers set against the ancient architecture of local mosques and other landmarks. You can have a lovely walk in the Icheri Sheher or old town and have some lunch in one of the beautiful street cafes. Have a ride on the Baku funicular which is a fantastic spot for Baku's panoramic views and admire the Flame Towers up close. If you want to enjoy a cultural experience, they have the Martyr's Alley & the Bibi Heybat Mosque, or if you prefer to do some shopping head to Nizami Street with its amazing baroque, neo-renaissance, and neo-gothic buildings. While there we ran into a small pop-up market with lots of different local foods and a mini Carnival with some attractions for kids which was just yummy and amazing. But if you truly want to get them into the adventure side have a small drive of about an hour to Gobustan National Park where more than four hundred mud volcanoes are found within the area – half of all mud volcanoes in the world. Additionally, there are bizarre rock formations, burning gas vents, prehistoric petroglyphs – and the large musical stone, called Gavaldash. You can also head to the Fire Mountain, the fire temple of Baku, or many more amazing spots that Baku has to offer. With plenty of flight options plus just a short 2 hr 45 min flight Baku deserves a chance. Azerbaijan is one of the visa-free countries for UAE residents and locals, which offers visa on arrival. Depending on your passport, when traveling from UAE to Azerbaijan, it is recommended that you pre-apply for the Azerbaijan Asan Visa online to save time.
