Explore the incredible scenery of South Vietnam with your family on this fantastic nine-day tour to some of the region’s top destinations. With vibrant cities, quaint villages and dramatic landscapes this Vietnam family adventure has it all.

Discover Vietnam’s rich culture by joining in traditional dance performances, encountering hill tribes, dining at street stalls and taking on several excursions and experiences which will give you and your family an immersive Vietnamese experience. From an overnight cruise down the waterways of the famous Mekong Delta to traversing the sprawling mountain plains of the Dalat highlands, this tour takes you to the great outdoors, giving you the chance to appreciate Vietnam’s beautiful landscapes. You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to get acquainted with the lively Ho Chi Minh City, the country’s biggest city, and all it has to offer.

Using child-friendly and enthusiastic guides in addition to limited travel distances, there will be plenty of quality time to spend with your family, and youngsters won’t feel overwhelmed, allowing them to explore at a more leisurely pace.

South Vietnam Family adventure itinerary – 9 days, 8 nights

Day 1: Arrival in Ho Chi Minh City

Check into the hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure. Explore the city independently and see French colonial sites including Notre Dame Cathedral and the Municipal Theatre.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City

See what the city has to offer including the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, Cholon Chinatown district, and shopping in Ho Chi Minh City’s bustling markets where the whole family can haggle for souvenirs!

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City to Cai Be – Overnight cruise

Head to the delta town of Cai Be to board the Bassac, stopping off at a village along the way to get a taste of local rural life before overnighting on the ship.

Day 4: Can Tho

Cruise through the floating markets of Chan Tho where wholesalers set up shop on large vessels, before returning to land and cycling on quiet lanes and dirt tracks – the perfect way to explore the Vietnamese countryside.

Day 5: Can Tho to Ho Chi Minh City

Drive back to Ho Chi Minh City and explore more of what it has to offer. Kids will love Buddhist-inspired Suoi Tien Theme Park or a traditional Vietnamese water puppet show!

Day 6: Ho Chi Minh City to Dalat

Take an early flight to Dalat, before discovering the fresh air and countryside on foot, using pine trails to find Tiger and Phoenix Waterfalls. Stop at a local minority village for a first-hand look at their daily activities and enjoy the rush of crossing suspended wooden rope bridges.

Day 7: Dalat to Nha Trang

Go on a cycling tour to discover more of the serene Dalat countryside with fantastic views of Xuan Huong Lake and Victory Lake and enjoy a picnic lunch near the Valley of Love. Continue on to Nha Trang city by road.

Day 8: Nha Trang

Embark on a “streets and eats” tour of Nha Trang, then take a cyclo ride through the city to catch sights such as the Nha Trang Cathedral and Ponagar temple.

Day 9: Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh City

Head back to Ho Chi Minh City to catch the departing flight.

The service includes accommodation in a shared twin or shared double room with some meals, tours, entrance fees and boat trips all included in the price.
