Founded in 2001, Elephant Hills is a unique concept offering interactive experiences with the majestic elephants of Thailand, without compromising their welfare. Located in the heart of Khao Sok National Park, and within a few hours of the holiday hotspots of Phuket, Krabi and Koh Samui, this incredible destination offers an ideal and unique add on to any Thailand holiday.
Take part in the exclusive, award-winning ‘elephant experience’, where you can get up close and personal with the camp’s gentle Asian elephants in a responsible way.
The team at Elephant Hills are deeply committed to elephant conservation, and the experience has been ranked by the Tourism Authority of Thailand as the best elephant camp in the country for animal welfare. With the help of their handlers, you’ll get hands-on experience in caring for these majestic creatures, and there will be plenty of opportunity for you to engage with them and learn about how Elephant Hills is ensuring their welfare.
Proud winners of an incredible array of awards, Elephant Hills pride themselves on being both responsible and ethical.
As well as winning the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s ‘Thailand Green Excellence Awards’ every year since 2014, Elephant Hills have also won awards for their commitment to environmental sustainability, with the Rainforest Camp actually running on wind and solar power.
Elephant Hills works to provide a better quality of life for the people of the area, building schools in the northern province of Mae Hong Son where many of their handlers come from, as well as providing aid to around a dozen schools in Southern Thailand.
During your stay, you can learn more about the area’s culture as you dine with local school children and enjoy cooking demonstrations. You can also help Elephant Hills offer a better quality of life to these amazing young people by bringing a few essential items with you, such as books, educational toys, calculators and warm clothes.
As the resort’s latest step in improving sustainability, Elephant Hills have now stopped handing out plastic water bottles on all of their tours, and have removed plastic bottles from their rooms and on transfers. Instead, stainless steel bottles are handed out to guests upon check-in, with complimentary refills available throughout your stay.
