Constantinou Bros Asimina Suites, Cyprus
On a private beach on the outskirts of Paphos, this luxurious adult-only all-suite hotel – a rarity in Paphos – has exclusive pool suites and a blissful low-lit spa including a private open-air massage area where you can soak in sea views and Mediterranean breezes rustling through the palm trees while you’re being pampered.
Rest and Rejuvenation
With everything from relaxing aromatherapy to powerful therapeutic and sports massages, from signature treatments to couples’ and honeymoon packages, Elixir Spa at Constantinou Bros Asimina Suites has something for everyone looking to get away from everyday stresses. A steam bath, two saunas, an extensive gym and a hair salon combine to have you looking and feeling your very best. In high season you can also take part in complimentary yoga in the morning and early evening.
Space and Privacy
Decorated in a clean-lined, low-key style with mainly neutral colours, the Asimina Suites all have spacious balconies, marble bathrooms and espresso machines, and most have separate living rooms. The most sought-after also have a private swimming pool and hot tub for the ultimate in seclusion, plus wooden decking from which to drink in the garden or sea views. The Executive suites with their own pool have the added benefit of a private beach cabana. With just 110 suites, this is a relatively intimate resort with an exclusive feel.
Extensive Facilities and a Great Location
Asimina Suites boasts two interconnected outdoor freshwater pools, a heated indoor pool and a floodlit tennis court. The bars, restaurants, shops and historic sights of Paphos are just a stroll away (Paphos harbour is 3km along the seafront), or the hotel offers bike, car and yacht hire for exploring the stunning surrounding area. Must-sees around Paphos and the island as a whole include Paphos Castle with its gorgeous views, Paphos Archaeological Park, where ancient ruins are still being excavated, the Tombs of the Kings and the catacombs at Agia Solomoni, famed Phinikoudes Beach, the green and forested Troodos Mountains (home to Kykkos, Cyprus’ main monastery) and the Baths of Aphrodite, where the goddess is said to have taken to the waters. Trips to a local winery can also be arranged. If you feel like getting active, there are scuba diving, snorkelling, rock climbing and plenty of other challenges nearby.
Intimate and Private Dining
Candlelit dinners for two on the hotel’s own private jetty are the stuff that memories are made of, but there are also four tempting restaurants to choose from, including the elegant, reservation-only Kymata with its lovely decked area for alfresco dining overlooking the beach, and the poolside restaurant with its fresh light cuisine. Unlimited à la carte dining can be enjoyed in all restaurants with Deluxe All-inclusive.
The focus throughout is on healthy Mediterranean dishes made from seasonal local ingredients, including at breakfast, which features Cypriot specialities such as cured meats and baklava among its extensive array of hot and cold dishes, plus an omelette station and even help-yourself champagne. For the evenings there are three bars (one VIP, one sports) and live entertainment by local musicians and Greek dancers – the vibe being gentle and low key for those who like their holidays romantic and tranquil. You’re also right next to the Greek Orthodox chapel of St Nicholas – a prize spot for viewing sunsets.
