Casagrand Luxury Suites
Experience Barcelona like a Catalonian local at Casagrand Luxury Suites, tucked into the hip Eixample district and within walking distance of Passeig de Gracia, Barcelona’s legendary shopping boulevard. Take in the city from your own private balcony or head for the roof terrace, where the pool offers views of the Barcelona cityscape from above.
Bright, airy and spacious apartments each feature original architectural details with a fully equipped kitchen and laundry room. All the rooms in the luxury apartments look out onto some of the best views in Barcelona.
Barcelona is a foodie’s paradise, with endless restaurants, cafes and tapas bars tempting passers-by with local dishes. Head to La Barceloneta beach and its xiringuitos (beach bars) for a mid-morning/afternoon dip before lunch or dinner. If you’re looking for a meal with a view, book a table at Xiringuito Escribà, a beachfront restaurant serving some of the best seafood paella in the city.
Located in the centre of Barcelona by the waterfront, this elegant, boutique hotel overlooks the newly renovated Port Vell Marina, with the legendary Gothic quarter behind and the Mediterranean to the front. Barceloneta’s beaches, the lively El Born district and Barcelona’s most recognisable landmarks are just a short walk away.
La Barceloneta is renowned for its sandy beach and the many restaurants and nightclubs that line its boardwalk. You’ll also find a play area for children, sun loungers, beach umbrellas, changing rooms and ice cream kiosks at the beach.
The hotel’s spacious rooms with private balconies offer a front-row seat to this trendy Barcelona neighbourhood; count the yachts pulling into Port Vell Marina as you sip cocktails and enjoy a light snack from the in-room menu.
Head to the rooftop terrace for a float-worthy outdoor swimming pool with awe-inspiring sea views, surrounded by plumped sun loungers, with El Sueño cocktail bar only steps away.
Experience Michelin starred Chef Marc Gascons’ Catalonian specialities with a selection of delicious locally sourced dishes from land and sea – the catch of the day is highly recommended. On Friday and Saturday nights, the resident DJ provides a relaxed weekend atmosphere for the restaurant and mezzanine bar.
Ohla Barcelona Hotel
Located just minutes from the Cathedral of Barcelona, Las Ramblas and Placa Catalunya in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, this former department store has been transformed into Ohla Barcelona Hotel with assistance from artist and sculptor Frederic Amat.
With unique attention-to-detail, each room and suite features cutting edge-technology, minimalist interior design combining various textures of oak wood, black and white tones, a remarkable a la carte menu and a pillow menu.
The culinary spaces are one of the highlights of the hotel and are not only frequented by its guests but the locals too. Ohla has two restaurants; on the ground floor, the chilled out La Plassohla restaurant serves innovative tapas and small sharing dishes; a table at the bar or in front of the kitchen allows you to attend preparations. Tucked away on the first floor, indulge in Chef Romain Fornell’s tasting menus at Caelis Priv. Try the squid fritters and trout roe followed by Eel del Delta "Roset" with foie gras emulsion. For a front-row view of the Michelin-starred Caelis Romain Fornell in action, request a seat around the kitchen.
Of course, the main highlight is Ohla’s rooftop terrace. This spot is much loved by locals and visitors alike; look out at the Barcelona Cathedral with 180º panoramic views. Centred on a 13-metre pool surrounded by glass walls, it's the best place to enjoy an aperitif, cocktails, or if you’d like something to eat, a selection of tapas from La Plassohla.
Borrow one of the Ohla’s bikes and enjoy a leisurely cycle down to the beachfront for some delicious seafood or tapas. Grab a shady spot in one of the xiringuitos and cool down with a drink while taking in the breathtaking views.
Good to know
Yoga sessions can be tailor-made to meet your needs at Casagrand. Comfortable sun loungers have been rearranged to ensure a minimum distance of 2 metres around the rooftop pool.
An à la carte room-personalisation service is available on request at Ohla; choose your pillows, amenities and even the aroma of your sheets. For a view of La Plassohla’s bustling open kitchen, ask for a bar-side stool at the counter.
If you fancy hiring bikes, taking a private tour of Barcelona, or hiring a boat for a romantic evening meal, the concierge team at The Serras can arrange all that and more.
