Husky Safari in the Wilderness
This husky safari is all about driving a husky sleigh! We drive by bus to a husky farm where we first learn how to handle the husky sleigh and then head for the wilderness with the dogs. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery and the speed of the dogs. On the halfway, we change turns in driving, and we head back to the husky farm where it is time to pet the dogs and take pictures of those beautiful animals. The musher will also share with you his love of the husky and story about those wonderful sled dogs.
Arctic Delight – Visit to Santa’s Village and snowmobiling to reindeer farm
Come and discover the secrets of Santa Claus and his trusted helpers! Meet Mr. Father Christmas himself, visit Santa’s Official Post Office, do some shopping and enjoy delicious lunch. After lunch, we head for the snowmobiles and drive to a local reindeer farm. Meet the reindeer, try a short reindeer sleigh ride, take part in special "Crossing of the Arctic Circle" ceremony and after a splendid day we return to the city by snowmobiles. Crossing the Arctic Circle Certificate is given to you as a gift at the end of the safari.
Snow Trail – 2 hour husky safari
Feel your heart race together with the speeding dogs in pristine winter forest of the Arctic Circle! On half day husky safari, you get to know your team of the arctic dogs and experience some real mushing, dog team handling. After the instruction on driving, we head to the wild with 2 persons sharing one sled. The distance of safari is between 12 -17 km with a midway break and chance to change the drivers. After safari we visit the kennel and you get to know more about life at the husky farm together with a hot drink and a sweet bite.

As you have your own clothing under the suit you will not get cold even in the open 0-degree water. The circumstances are truly arctic! If the weather is clear, we can see beautiful stars and may even get to marvel magnificent Northern Lights.
Good to know
Lapland Santa breaks are becoming hugely popular among parents looking to give their children a truly magical festive experience and a pre-Christmas (or even post-Christmas) treat while experiencing all kinds of new and exciting activities in the great outdoors – an outdoors the likes of which you’ll likely never have seen before, with knee-deep snow and naturally sparkling pine trees.
Some of our favourite things to do during your Finland family break.
Hop aboard a reindeer sleigh ride for a scenic trip through the snowy forest.
Drive your children through the trees on an exhilarating husky sledge ride.
Discover the bewitching white-on-white landscape aboard a snowmobile (with kids pulled in a chariot behind your guide)
Have a whole array of snow-based fun, which might include tobogganing (some hotels have free sledges for you to take to the nearest slopes), mini-skidooing, ice-fishing, snow hockey, kick-sledding and tandem-skiing.
Witness the Northern Lights flickering across the sky. You may not be able to count on a viewing of nature’s most spellbinding light display, but you’ll be in the best place at the best time of year for spotting the aurora borealis. You can also increase your chances of a sighting by booking an optional Northern Lights safari, with your guide taking you to the most likely spots to see the phenomenon.
Meet Santa. Riding a snowmobile to a cabin hidden away in the forest for a private meeting with Father Christmas is something no child will ever forget – nor any parent when they see the look on their offspring’s faces…
Visit Santa’s workshop to bake gingerbread with the elves.
Tuck into a traditional Christmas dinner with your family at your cosy hotel or cabin.
Warm up in a sauna, available in many of the accommodation options, or head for the bar for a reviving hot chocolate or cup of hot berry juice.
