Kilimanjaro Adventure

If yes, then I recommend one of my craziest adventures - visiting mountain Kilimanjaro.

We were staying in Zanzibar for our holidays, when I got that spontaneous idea to visit Kilimanjaro. We had only 1 day for that tour and it sounded impossible. There were no tours like that that could be offered to us, so our hotel concierge customized a whole itinerary for us. The plan was to get a speed boat trip and it was the only way to catch a flight early morning at 7am from Dar E Salam Airport ) to Kilimanjaro.

As per our hotel concierge it supposed to be a speed boat, however turned to be just a basic wooden boat with motor. Imagine how surprised we were, but what to do as we had to catch the flight. So 2 hours of thrilling journey in the darkness under the stars through Indian Ocean were bit scary, but for sure unforgettable. Real adventure. And we made it!!!

Once we arrived to the shore, taxi was waiting for us. It looked so unreal, taxi in the middle of nowhere in a small African village in the night. Anyway we head to the airport and caught out flight to Kilimanjaro. When we landed at the airport, Safari jeep Car was waiting for us with the English-speaking guide and a driver. We had a time of our life visiting Kilimanjaro.

Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa, about 4,900 meters (16,100 ft) from its base to 5,895 meters (19,341 ft) above sea level.

If u are not ready to climb - no issues, you can visit Kilimanjaro national park by jeep and take a photo on the climbers starting point as we did. The mountain is part of the Kilimanjaro National Park and is a major climbing destination.
